When Twilight was launched on DVD, it sold 3.8 million pieces in the first two days, creating more than 180 million dollars in DVD sales. New Moon was even better, selling 4 million copies in the first weekend. Now that the Eclipse dvd release date is getting closer, will the Eclipse dvd manage to set a new history for the franchise?

The hype surrounding the Twilight series is influenced by the huge success Stephenie Meyer got with her first novel. Additional sequels adhered to the pattern as the audience was hungry for new expeditions of their heroes, Bella, Edward and Jacob. As the movies were released, fans were happy by an opportunity to see the story in film. Twilight fans are now anxious to get the Twilight Eclipse dvd release date. And with Breaking Dawn announced for 2010, it will be four movies in four years, maximizing the marketing influence.

The producers intended to take Eclipse in a slightly different way than the earlier two movies, so they employed David Slade to direct it, since Chris Weitz turned them down, stating that he was too busy with completing New Moon. Apart from adding more action than in earlier movies, Slade was more concerned with describing a good story, than simply being different. The Eclipse dvd will definitely be popular.

New action events have moved the Eclipse dvd to action/ horror-thriller, which will certainly appeal to a much broader audience than Twilight and New Moon. As the suspense spreads throughout Seattle, Belle is caught between her mate vampire Edward and her pal werewolf Jacob, who also has feelings for her.

The ancient rivalry between vampires and werewolves is held at bay by a weak truce, to which both parties agreed only because of Bella. The situation is complicated by Victoria, who is seeking to enact her revenge upon Bella for the death of her boyfriend in a past chapter of the saga. Edward and Jacob have to work together if they are to cease Victoria's army of newborn vampires and save Bella.

"Bring back Rachel" was the most witnessed message on Twitter on July 29th 2009. This was the day when Summit Entertainment declared that they are substituting her with Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria in Eclipse. They also made her a testament video on You tube. Rachel stated that she was overwhelmed by the fans' encouragement. However, even though she did a good job acting as Victoria in the first two movies, we have to be fair and say that Bryce Dallas Howard managed the role quite well in Eclipse, playing a bad character.

The final sequel of the saga, Breaking Dawn, will enter pre-production in 2010, although Summit Entertainment still hasn't approved the final version. Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote the screenplays for the initial three movies, is also responsible for the fourth.

While there is not yet an authorized date for the Twilight Eclipse dvd release date, it is sure to be a hot topic in the next few months. Along with the reports of the release date will also come news of special bonuses likely with the dvd.
